Many people are
now aware of the effect that poor oral health has on their general
well-being; pain, stress and susceptibility to other disease5 being
just a few of the symptoms. At this practice, we believe that a
clear understanding of your own oral health will allow us to guide
you through an appropriate programme of prevention and treatment.
Everybody’s
teeth are different and, indeed, some people's need more attention
than others. However, it is possible for all of us to reach the same
goal - one of optimum oral health -and we can help you to get there
by providing high quality dental care.
and
its people
Your dentist is Stuart Ferraris, B.Ch.D (U Stell.). Stuart
Ferraris graduated from the University of Stellenbosch, South
Africa, in 1976 and has more than 15 years' professional experience.
His career started in the ~ where he worked as a dental officer
before starting his own private practice in South Africa. In 1982,
he moved to the UK and was involved in general practice in Bangor
for several years before opening the Dental Health Care Centre in
Beaumaris in 1990.
His professional experience enables him to advise on all areas of
dentistry and to assess other aspects of general health and
nutrition which may be having a detrimental effect on your oral
well-being
The most important member of our team is the dental hygienist.
Dental hygiene and its proper implementation can prevent both tooth
decay and gum disease. Although the last decade has seen an enormous
fall in the incidence of tooth decay, an alarming increase in
diagnosed gum disease, claiming often perfectly healthy teeth,
supports the need for good hygiene treatment and care at home. It is
the responsibility of our hygienist to explain how to implement your
own home care programme, to encourage you to look after your teeth
properly and, when necessary, apply corrective treatment. The
hygienist will also provide dietary advice.
Your dentist and hygienist are assisted by a highly trained team
of dental nurses who have responsibility for your comfort and
well-being.
All members of the Practice are conversant with new technical
developments; workshops and international courses form an important
part of our staff training programme.
